Bulgarian wine making has deep roots. The Domain Menada winery in Bulgaria’s Thracian Valley has been producing barrels of juicy, fresh wines for more than a century. The company was established in 1901 as co-operative ‘Loza’. Domain Menada became part of the French holding Belvedere Group in 2002 (renamed Marie Brizard Wine & Spirits in July 2015).
The winery owns an area with more than 426 ha of vineyards around Elhovo, Mogilovo, Gorno Botevo and 80% of their own grapes are used in the wine making process. Their specialties include Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot pure varietal wines as well as blends with local varieties, including Rubin and Mavrud.
Domain Menada has a capacity of 20 million bottles per year and processing capacity over 8000 tons. Storage capacity is 380,000 liters.
The whole wine-making process is analysed and monitored closely and perfectly controlled by experts, ensuring that they have an extensive knowledge base and that their production is always of the highest quality.
